NOSTALGIC ART: GRAMOPHONE
In my study stands there a gramophone player on my desk. Though in practicality it has decided to serve itself the role of a conversation piece, it does work and it does play loud and clear (provided I changed the needle) my favorite gramophone song, "It's Almost Tomorrow" by Eve Boswell with the Reg Owen Orchestra. [What's a "Parlophone"?]
Long story short, I had no trouble in deciding on a subject when I decided it's time to do art. A few months ago in 2008, I thought I would try and see if it's possible to make a living (or any kind of money) selling art at online auction.
But before I could get to auction it off, my mother had my father buy this piece offline for an amount well over my planned starting bid. So there it hangs on the wall in their house. And I'm glad it didn't end up out of sight somewhere unknown. I like it close by.
And now, I present it for the delight of your eyes and the appreciation of your heart:
Should you like this art piece, I would love it if you would download a high resolution scan of it that you can print out and frame for your own home. Have a look at it's versatility when it comes to frame and room style. The last one is my favorite:
